Just sitting here. Sweating.
Monday is “my night”. To exercise or sleep or sew or whatever I want after Bike Man gets home. Today was a particularly bedraggling day on the home front so I got all ready for hot yoga, was almost there the appropriate 3 min before class starts, and instead chose a moment alone, in public (my favorite). I got some take out and came to sit down at the south end of the Sound. It’s all seagulls and evening walkers, sea water stink and perfect, bright hot on the west side of my body.
After my last post on depression, I got tons of people reaching out. About their own experiences with anxiety/depression or their current struggles. It really gives me heart because for many of us it’s not out of the norm. It’s part of living fully in the right now and being willing to continue to do so. Writing about it helps me feel connected, which for me is the antidote. My friend, Amanda wrote beautifully here about her own antidote.
I skipped my exercise to come out and sit by the water. As I’m here listening to the noisy clangs from the marina, the sun and wind calm my heart. I’m so grateful for the moments I have to reclaim myself after being ground to a fine dust by a small-ish simultaneously whining and demanding voice.
And I read about exercise - Diastasis Recti and the avoidance of to be specific- so that counts.
And now I’m off to a sewing date. To work on this- I’m so close to finishing the first part!
